Dining with Diabetes On-Line Classes

Layne Langley, West Feliciana Parish Family and Consumer Sciences Nutrition Agent with the LSU AgCenter and Dewana Bobo, Family Nurse Practitioner, with the Daniel Clinic will host an online only 5-part educational series on Type 2 Diabetes. The goal of the program is to help adults who have Type 2 Diabetes, adults who are Pre-Diabetic or have a family history of Diabetes, as well as their families/caregivers in learning how to manage their condition through menu planning, carbohydrate counting, portion control, and label reading.

The sessions will be held at 5:30 p.m. The dates and topics for each session are as follows:

  • August 17th - Session 1: What is Diabetes?
  • August 24th - Session 2: Carbohydrates and Sweeteners
  • August 31st - Session 3: Fats and Sodium
  • September 14th - Session 4: Vitamins, Minerals, and Fiber

The fifth class will be a reunion/review session that will be announced at a later date.
