The Master Horseman Advisory Committee invites you to attend the first Master Horseman Benefit Trail Ride and Campout on 750 acres of open pasture, hills and woodlands.
Besides the trail ride, participants will enjoy chuck wagon cooking, educational clinics by local clinician Cory Borque and others, an auction, a campfire gathering and much more! Please join us for a fun-filled family event and stay overnight for additional fun on Sunday. Lunch and dinner will be provided on Saturday.
This event will be held in Cade, La., on November 6-7 with the first ride beginning at 9 a.m. Cost: $40/adult and $10/child (all weekend), $10 for those who arrive late on Saturday night for dinner and festivities, and $20/adult and $5/child for those participating only on Sunday.
Directions: 1655 Old Spanish Trail, Hwy S, St. Martinville, La.
Go south of Lafayette on US-90 E. Exit Cade/St. Martinville. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto La. Hwy 182. Destination is on the left (5.1 miles) Arrive at the first driveway on the left past Spanish Trail Golf Club. If you pass the New Tropicana Club, you have traveled 2/10th of a mile too far.
The LSU AgCenter Master Horseman Program's purpose is to improve the horsemanship skills of adults and prepare them to serve as leaders in the 4-H Horse Program and within the Louisiana horse industry. The Master Horseman Program consists of 8 weeks of instruction on many topics related to equine science and horsemanship. Since its inception, more than 600 men and women have graduated from the program and serve in leadership roles in horse organizations and youth programs throughout the state.
