State and Regional Volunteer Leader Opportunities

Volunteersjpg

All volunteers that work with Louisiana 4-H have an opportunity to serve at the regional and state level. Volunteers that serve at the regional and state level have an opportunity to:

  • Discuss volunteer needs and issues and create more program awareness.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Share resources and ideas between parishes.
  • Learn about opportunities for volunteers to be involved in planning and evaluating specific statewide programs, serve on state committees, and serve as chaperones for state and national programs.

The best way to get involved at the regional and state level is to become a member of the Louisiana 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association and subscribe to the State Office/VLA Volunteer Newsletter.

The Louisiana 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association

The Louisiana 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association (VLA)is open to all volunteers and provides its members with state and regional leadership and professional development opportunities. The Association represents the interest of volunteer leaders, parents, and 4-H members from diverse backgrounds at various levels in the 4-H program.

VLA members are provided additional opportunities to participate in community, parish, regional, and state activities. Volunteers can secure a lifetime membership for a $25.00 fee. An application for membership is available on the VLA website at la4hvolunteers.com.
