Catherine Segura
Iberia Parish
Dr. Catherine Segura has supported the Iberia Parish 4-H program as an organizational leader, advisory board member and parish elementary curriculum supervisor. She was instrumental in starting the Ag Adventures program for all third-grade public and parochial students to help increase their knowledge of Louisiana agricultural commodities. Over 1,200 students have attended this event the past 15 years.
Dr. Segura and her family are proud supporters of the Iberia Parish 4-H Foundation Golf Tournament and have helped raise over $50,000 over 14 years for the parish foundation. The Segura family are annual supporters of the Iberia Parish livestock program and are major contributors and volunteers at the Sugarcane Festival 4-H Livestock Show and Sale. Dr. Segura serves on the Louisiana 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees and is co-chair of the Louisiana 4-H Foundation Golf Tournament.
As a result of her exemplary commitment to 4-H youth, she was the 2009 Iberia Parish Achievement Day honoree. Dr. Segura is an LSU AgCenter Leadership Program alumna and Louisiana School Superintendent Award winner. She is involved in civic and community organizations, including board member of New Iberia Museum Foundation, Kiwanis Club of New Iberia, chair member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and executive board member of the Louisiana Association du Nueva Iberia, Inc. and New Iberia Fortnightly Club.
