Billy B. Nutt of Bienville Parish began his career in extension in 1966 in Lake Providence as an associate county agent. He successfully instilled in many youth a sense of responsibility through the livestock project, carefully guiding the youth to care for their animals, groom them and get ready to show them. He transferred to Lincoln Parish and in 1972 he moved his family to Bienville Parish as county agent and parish chair. He received numerous awards, including the LCES Program of Excellence Award, the 4-H Team Award and the Distinguished Service Award. Now retired, he assists in garden contests and beautification activities at his church, library and the courthouse.
