Marleen Mayfield

Marleen Mayfield of St. Bernard Parish has immersed herself in the parish 4-H program since 2003 as a club leader, advisory committee member, and summer 4-H camp volunteer locally and at the state 4-H camp. She assists youth with project work, service projects and leadership training. She also conducts recruiting and training for other adult leaders. Mayfield helped coordinate the 4-H after-school program at Andrew Jackson Elementary and organized one of the first 4-H clubs to return to St. Bernard after Hurricane Katrina. She received a Toyota Prius after Hurricane Katrina from Phoenix Suns basketball player Amar’e Stoudemire and was recognized with a Gold 4-H Club Award in 2003, 2004 and 2005. This award has not been given since Hurricane Katrina.
