Jack Dillard

For more than 50 years, Jack Dillard has been an extension agent and a 4-H parent, grandparent and volunteer as well as ambassador of the 4-H program in northwest Louisiana and East Texas. After serving as county agent for two years, he became farm director of KWKH Radio. In addition to his radio duties, he began a weekly news column in The Shreveport Times promoting agriculture and the 4-H program. Mr. Dillard has served as the chief auctioneer for the State Fair of Louisiana Ag Council Junior Livestock Sale for 44 years. This sale has generated millions of dollars for youth. He has volunteered his time to help with parish fundraising auctions and to speak at Junior Leader meetings, award banquets and numerous other 4-H events. He serves on the Ark-La-Tex Ag Council Board which sponsors scholarships to outstanding 4-H members. He is a charter member of the Ark-La-Tex Agricultural Council, and his leadership helped this organization initiate the Junior Livestock Sale. Jack Dillard has also attended the International Livestock Show and National 4-H Congress.
