Burton E. Cestia Jr.
Iberia Parish
Burt Cestia has played a major role in the 4-H program for over 15 years, providing legal advice, authoring legal documentation for the parish 4-H Foundation and establishing rules and regulations for the Annual Iberia 4-H Foundation Golf Tournament. Each year assets from the tournament are used to offset the expenses incurred by the parish 4-H program for summer camp, challenge camp, 4-H University and providing scholarships to graduating 4-H members attending college and technical schools.
He has been the catalyst that helped establish fundraisers for the 4-H programs, particularly the parish 4-H Golf Tournament that has generated $50,000 over the past 12 years. He authored rules and regulations for the Sugarcane Festival 4-H Livestock Sale.
Burt is active in the Iberia and Louisiana Bar Associations and has served as a member of the Disciplinary Board. His civic involvement includes the Kiwanis Club, United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts and Iberia Tourist Commission. He is a religion teacher at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church and past president of St. Peter’s Catholic Church Council.
As a result of his untiring efforts to Iberia 4-H, the 2007 4-H Achievement Day was dedicated to Mr. Burt.
