Mr. A.J. Melancon Jr. worked as a county agent in St. Charles Parish for 25 years and retired in 1971 after devoting 36 years to extension work.
To Mrs. Andrea, 4-H is a family affair and she claims that, “Seeing your kids pass it on is the most rewarding experience.”
Mrs. Gloria Miller began her journey with Louisiana 4-H in 2004, when her granddaughter joined 4-H in the fourth grade.
St. Charles Parish. Year Inducted: 2008. Catherine Richard was a 4-H Leader in St. Charles Parish for 55 years. Her students won numerous state and blue ribbon awards at 4-H Short Course at LSU. She served as a chaperone for the Jr. Leaders Camp and for the district wildlife trip.
St. Charles Parish. Year Inducted: 2013. Charles Campbell began his 4-H experience as member in the Gueydan Elementary School in 1945. During high school he served as president and secretary. Through his 4-H project work he was able to save enough money to attend McNeese State College. As a member of the New Orleans Area Chamber of Commerce 4-H Good Provider Committee, he traveled the state for two years interviewing youth for the awards.
