Mrs. Cathy Falcon began her reign as the 4-H leader at St. Genevieve Catholic School in 1991 and continued in that role until she retired in 2018.
As director of career and technical education/schools of choice in Lafayette Parish, Mr. Lejeune has built and strengthened relationships in schools with 4-H.
Mr. Kirk Martin has been serving Lafayette Parish 4-H since the mid-1980s, first as a parent and now as a proud grandparent.
Lafayette Parish. Year Inducted: 2008. A.J. Brackin, a former 4-H agent in Lafayette Parish, helped establish the first Junior Leadership program, empowering older 4-H members as project leaders. After retiring, Brackin continued to support 4-H and helped establish the Lafayette Parish 4-H Foundation. Outstanding record book winners are recognized with an award named in his honor.
Lafayette Parish. Year Inducted: 2010. Anne Chauvin has been a leader in Lafayette Parish for more than 20 years and volunteers about 200 hours annually to the Lafayette Parish 4-H program.
Lafayette Parish. Year Inducted: 2008. George Fawcett became involved with 4-H as a business recruiter representing the SLEMCO utility for the parish livestock show and sale. His work yielded thousands of dollars worth of advertisements. His continuing love for the lamb project and youth is obvious as he provides the less fortunate with opportunities to participate in 4-H.
Lafayette Parish. Year Inducted: 2012. Joel Guidry began volunteering in the 4-H program when his children enrolled in the club in 1999. He remains active in 2012. His leadership roles include chairman of the 4-H Horse Advisory Task Force, Advisory Task Force swine representative and Acadiana District Livestock Show board member. Mr. Guidry was instrumental in developing the Lafayette 4-H Horse Advisory Board and is a graduate of the Master Horseman program.
Lafayette Parish. Year Inducted: 2009. Denise Turner of Lafayette Parish began volunteering with 4-H when her sons Chad and Cody joined their local 4-H Clubs. She received training in the Louisiana 4-H Sportsfishing Program and has served as an angling skills instructor for seven years, providing lessons on casting and knot tying to youth. She also helps plan and coordinate the annual 4-H “Let’s Go Fishing” clinic each year.
