Johnny was an active member of the Vermilion Cattlemen’s Association for 24 years, and under his leadership as president, membership tripled to 300 in one year, making the organization the largest in the state. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Brahman Breeders Association, judged for the Braford Breeders Association at Houston Livestock Show and was a member of the Houston Show Sale Committee. This Vermilion cattleman managed one of the largest commercial Brahman herds in the parish and was recognized as the 1988 Cattleman of the Year.
