Joanne Bolding, who has 42 years of involvement with 4-H, was first introduced to 4-H when her county agent asked her dad to let her show sheep. She became an avid 4-H'er, showing winning animals at state contests. From 1970-1990, she was the volunteer organizational club leader at Forest High School and every year assisted 25-30 club members with a wide variety of projects. She chaperoned numerous events, conducted workshops at her home and conducted sewing contests. Her 4-H'ers developed numerous winning livestock and fair exhibits and won many state contests and trips. One year, Bolding traveled over 5,000 miles in her cars as a 4-H volunteer. She has served on the 4-H Foundation Board and 4-H Advisory Leadership Council. She has received the Louisiana 4-H Alumni Award and 4-H Good Provider Leader Award.
