Welcome Parents!

At Louisiana 4-H, we know that strong families build strong youth. As a parent or guardian, you play a vital role in helping your child explore their interests, grow in confidence, and discover their full potential. That’s why we’re here—to partner with you in building the next generation of Beyond Ready leaders.

What is 4-H?

4-H is Louisiana’s premier youth development program, where young people gain life skills through hands-on learning in areas:

From club meetings and day camps to service projects and state competitions, your child will grow through positive experiences that inspire purpose, resilience, and responsibility.

What Does Beyond Ready Mean?

What Does Beyond Ready Mean?

Being Beyond Ready means your child isn’t just prepared for the next grade or next event—they’re developing the character, confidence, and critical thinking skills that will carry them through life.
Through 4-H they’ll learn to:

  • Listen to lead and collaborate
  • Build communication skills
  • Practice resiliency
  • Serve their community
  • Explore college and career pathways

How Can You Get Involved?

There are many ways parents and guardians can be a part of the 4-H journey:

  • Support your child’s participation
  • Volunteer at events
  • Share your talents or career insights with local clubs
  • Serve as a project leader

You don’t have to have a background in agriculture to help! Just having an interest is good!
