The Louisiana 4-H Livestock Ambassador program provides an opportunity for 4-H youth in grades 9th to 12th to be empowered with knowledge of the livestock industry in order to serve as strong advocates for agriculture, mentors for younger 4-H members with livestock projects, and consumer educators on the importance of agriculture across Louisiana and country. Throughout the 2022-2023 term, Louisiana 4-H Livestock Ambassadors contributed 619 hours at over 105 events and served over 13,720 people within communities across Louisiana for a contribution valued at $16,298.27.

Livestock Ambassadors spend a week on the campus of Louisiana State University learning from collegiate level professors as well as industry representatives and producers to gain a better understanding of the livestock industry.

Livestock Ambassadors continue their project education through various Farm Tours throughout their term as an ambassador.

Livestock Ambassadors learn about professionalism and business etiquette to better prepare for their futures.

Livestock Ambassadors serve as leaders in the Louisiana 4-H program.

Livestock Ambassadors work to empower the next generation for the betterment of our clubs, our communities, and our state.

Livestock Ambassadors provide opportunities for agriculture literacy within their own communities.
