The Louisiana 4-H State Forestry Contest is a hands-on, skills-based competition that challenges youth to demonstrate their expertise in forestry science and field techniques. This immersive experience prepares participants for real-world forestry applications and opens the door to national-level competition.

Contest Highlights

  • Applied Learning: Engage in practical forestry tasks and scientific evaluation.
  • Eligibility: Open to youth ages 14–19 as of January 1, 2025.
  • Team Entries: Each parish may enter 1 to 8 individuals.

Pathway to Nationals

The first-place team will represent Louisiana at the National 4-H Forestry Invitational in West Virginia, gaining exposure to top-tier competition and forestry professionals from across the country.
