Visions for a more resilient Louisiana banner.

This creative learning experience empowers young people to explore the natural hazards that impact communities across Louisiana and share this knowledge through artistic expression.

Participants will attend a one-day workshop at LaHouse where they’ll learn about the natural disasters like floods, hurricanes, and extreme heat, and how these events affect the places we live. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, students will explore how communities can prepare, adapt, and build back stronger.

At the end of the workshop, participants will use what they’ve learned to create their own artistic interpretation of community resilience in Louisiana.

Selected works will be showcased at LSU's 20 Years of Hurricane Katrina event, where the participants will have the opportunity to share their art and speak with professors, public officials and resilience experts. Youth that complete the workshop and have their artwork selected to display will receive a school excuse. Questions? Email Dr. Meggan Franks.
