Course Information:
The IPM for Multi-Family Housing course is designed to help property managers implement a comprehensive integrated pest management (IPM) program. IPM is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices. IPM programs use current, research based information on the life cycles of pests, their interaction with the environment, and currently available pest control methods to manage pest damage by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.

Property managers and stakeholders, such as resident leaders and health workers, will develop the skills and learn practices needed to safely and effectively eliminate pests such as cockroaches and rodents from multi-family housing while protecting the health of residents. The course is most beneficial with active participation of the pest management professional as well as property maintenance and resident support services.

Who Should Attend:
The primary target audiences for the course are property management staff, resident leaders, resident service staff and maintenance staff who want to have more effective pest control through integrated pest management (IPM). The course is also recommended for environmental health professionals, housing code inspectors, home inspectors, lead risk assessors, health and housing advocates, property owners, pest management professionals, lead poisoning case managers, asthma case managers, community housing development government and non-profit organizations, housing rehab specialists, outreach educators, social workers and landscape services.
