Healthy Beginnings for Your Baby

Healthy Beginnings for your baby

Raising a child is a big responsibility. It’s also one of the most important things you may do in your life.

Giving your baby a good beginning is important in helping him or her mature and properly develop in later years. You can learn ways to take care of your baby and improve your parenting skills with the Healthy Beginnings for Your Baby program through the LSU AgCenter.

Healthy Beginnings for Your Baby is a six-part series of classes offered to pregnant women or parents of infants. Targeted to participants in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, Healthy Beginnings classes are designed to help mothers and their infants prepare for success in the future. It aims to strengthen parents’ understanding of the important skills they need for personal success and success for their children.

The Healthy Beginnings Program is provided by the LSU AgCenter in 39 designated parishes across the state. For more information about the program contact Courtney Pitts via email cpitts@agcenter.lsu.edu.
