2015 Arborist Continuing Education Workshops and Learning Opportunities

LA Arborist CEU Workshops
These are the 1-day seminars we always offer. Each is approved for LDAF continuing education for state license renewal. Some are also pre-approved for ISA credits. Click on the titles below to register for workshops.

September 4, 2015. 1st Aid & CPR
Lake Claiborne State Park, Homer (seating limited to 48).

September 18, 2015. 1st Aid & CPR
Lake Chicot State Park, Ville Platte (seating limited to 48)

October 9, 2015. 1st Aid & CPR
LSU AgCenter Red River Research Station, Bossier City (seating limited to 48).

November 13, 2015. Updates on BMPs for the Southeastern US
Burden Research Center, Baton Rouge (seating limited to 85).

December 11, 2015. Tree Support Systems

January 22 2016, The Latest in Tree Care
Lod Cook Conference Center—LSU, Baton Rouge (seating limited to 150)

Tree Camps are multi-day, small, hands-on courses held in a residents setting to enhance the learning experience. Tree Camps are offered at the LSU Lee Memorial Forest in Franklinton, LA.

Tree Camp: Technical Felling & Climbing, November 30 - December 3, 2015.  will bring new techniques to experienced tree-care workers or prepare novices for the field. Two-day module: $600, both modules $1,000. Meals & lodging included in fee. Registration ends November 20, 2015. ISA and LDAF CEUs available. Tree Camp: Technical Felling & Climbing is limited to 12 participants. ISA & LA State Arborist License CEUs available.

Tree Camp: Exam Review Course,  December 14—18, 2015.
Full course: $700. Meals & lodging and learning materials included in fee. Participants who wish to take the LA State License Exam may do so on the last day of Tree Camp: Those wishing to take ISA Certification must make separate arrangements to take that exam. The State License Exam fee is not included. Participants who wish to take the state license exam on the final day of class must pay exam fee separately to LDAF (check or money order only). Registration ends December 4, 2015.  ISA CEUs available. Tree Camp: Exam Review Course will prepare participants for success on either the Louisiana State Arborist License Exam or the International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist Exam (or both). Tree Camp: Exam Review Course will take place at he LSU Lee Memorial Forest in Franklinton, LA. Registration for Tree Camp: Exam Review Course is limited to 18 participants.
