Intro

The Sugarcane Breeding and Quantitative Genetics Lab is led by Dr. Brayden Blanchard and is housed at the LSU AgCenter Sugar Research Station in St. Gabriel, LA. This program was developed to enhance the existing sugarcane breeding program with new strategies and technologies that can increase genetic gain.

Mission

The mission of the sugarcane and quantitative genetics (SBQG) lab is to enhance the existing sugarcane breeding program with new strategies and technologies that can increase genetic gain and aid in producing elite sugarcane cultivars for the Louisiana sugarcane industry.
