Several skipper species can be found in rice: fiery skipper, Hylephila phyleus; least skipper; Ancyloxypha numitor;Ocola skipper, Ponoquina ocola. Skippers belong to the Lepidoptera family. Skippers may occasionally attack rice in Louisiana. The numbers of skippers in rice field are usually below level justifying insecticide treatment.
