The meeting brought together rice scientists and others from around the globe and provided for exchange of information, cooperative planning, and networking to facilitate all aspects of rice research, extension work, supply chain dynamics, and all other areas of production. Past meeting locations have included Australia (2), California, Italy, Uruguay, Thailand, and Brazil (most recently in 2020). The meeting has grown through the years and includes keynote speakers, symposia, research discipline panels, and poster sessions.
