Corn seed manufacturers participated in the on‐farm core block trials with a total of 21 varieties from 7 different companies. A total of 28 trials were conducted throughout the corn growing areas of Louisiana, with parish agents coordinating trial activities.
The corn trials were placed with active corn growers and subjected to the standard production practices for that grower. A few incidents occurred that resulted in the loss of a few data points, and some trials suffered from adverse growing conditions. Given that, most trial averages were consistent with historical yield averages for the state.
