Task 6.1. Educational programs at LSU-Baton Rouge.

Use existing degree programs at LSU in building concentrations in sustainable energy 
with a focus on the southeastern United States. Develop shortcourses to be 
offered directly to stakeholders.

Task 6.2. Health and safety issues.

Develop an activity-safety resources map, drawing on well-developed, existing resources on health and safety in both the farming-related activities and the pilot plant operation-related activities.

Task 6.3. Objective: Bioenergy Workshop and Symposium

A key for the success of our students is introducing them both to the current science and practice and to the leaders in the field.

Task 6.3. Objective: Summer Sustainability Camp—Center for Energy and Environmental Studies.

The Center for Energy and Environmental Studies, a division of the Office of Research and 
Strategic Initiatives at Southern University, sponsors a math, science, and reading Summer 
Enrichment Camp for K-8 students.
