LaHouse is a display of high-performance building practices to create more sustainable, resilient and healthy homes in the gulf region. The research-based facility is located on LSU's Baton Rouge campus and displays home-building techniques and solutions for Louisiana's unique climate. LaHouse is open weekdays from 10 am to 4:30 p.m. for self-guided tours or can be toured completely virtually.
Porcelain tile is durable, making it an excellent choice for high traffic areas. Porcelain will not break like other materials and is also resistant to staining because it is nonporous. Porcelain floors require no specialized cleaning supplies and are very low maintenance.
There are many porcelain tile options available to suit any home’s design. There are also porcelain tiles available that look like marble, slate, wood, or limestone to give a more expensive look with the durability and low price point of porcelain.
Silk is naturally resistant to bacteria and mold, hypo-allergenic, durable, and non-toxic. Silk does not collect dust, a common asthma trigger which can irritate the respiratory system.
