The research-based facility is located on LSU's Baton Rouge campus and displays home-building techniques and solutions for Louisiana's unique climate. LaHouse is open weekdays from 10 am to 4:30 p.m. for self-guided tours or can be toured completely virtually.

This window is impact rated for flying debris in the case of extreme weather. Impact rated windows are a good option when not adding an awning or overhang to a window to prevent any damage.

The twisting lever is easy to use for people with limited hand and wrist mobility that may have problems with their grip.

Engineered quartz, sill backsplash

Engineered quartz and sill are ideal materials for the bathroom as they are mold and mildew resistant. They also do not require any grout, which is very prone to mold growth. The smooth material is also very easy to clean and does not require any specialized products.

The engineered quartz and sill are more expensive than other standard options, but are very long lasting and durable. Additionally, they come in many color options and patterns.

Privacy, moisture resistant shade

The shade over the tub is moisture resistant and will not be damaged by any steam or water from the tub.

It is easy to raise and lower for privacy while in the bath or to let more sunlight in for passive solar lighting.
