Louisiana Master Cattlemen Training Program comes to St. Tammany

The LSU AgCenter in St. Tammany will host a Louisiana Master Cattlemen training later this summer. The program is a commodity-specific program to enhance the profitability of beef producers by equipping them with important beef cattle best management practices. It also allows participants further integration into farm management/marketing components related to beef production. After completing the Master Cattleman program, participants should be better able to increase farm profitability while being environmentally sustainable. A registration fee of $125.00 is required to help cover the cost of teaching materials, meals, certificates, and a metal farm sign. Lecture topics will include the following:

  • Animal Health
  • Beef Quality Assurance
  • Nutrition
  • Pasture Agronomy
  • Reproductive
  • Weed Management
  • Breeding & Selection
  • Economics & Marketing
  • Animal Handling
  • End Product

The training will be at the St. Tammany Extension Office located at 1301 N. Florida St. Covington, LA 70433 near the St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds.
