Louisiana 4‑H University is open to 8th–12th grade 4‑H members from across the state and features over 40 competitive events showcasing skills developed throughout the year. Events include agriculture, public speaking, fashion revue, automotive care, fishing sports, and more, helping youth build teamwork, decision‑making, and leadership skills. The 2026 Louisiana 4‑H University will be held June 23–26, 2026, at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, offering teens a chance to experience the LSU campus. Regular registration ends May 20th. Interested members should contact their local 4‑H Office and check their 4‑H University email. Students in grades 8–12 not currently enrolled in 4‑H may still participate if they enroll by May 22, 2026. For more information or assistance, contact the 4‑H Office at 985‑446‑1316.
There will be a State 4HU Training Day on May 29, 2026, at the Evac Shelter in Alexandria. A bus will be provided for attendees. Trainings are available in many of the 4-H University contests, and it is an excellent way to become familiar with the contest itself. Registration is in 4HOnline, but it must be initiated by the 4-H agent. Adult volunteers can also attend the training. Please call the 4-H Office for more information or to register.
Calling all young creators! Join us for the SEW What?! 4‑H Camp, where youth will learn sewing basics, build confidence, and create fun projects you’ll be proud to take home! When: June 8-10, 2026, from 8 AM to 12 Noon each day; Cost: $50 per student (includes supplies and snacks)
Who: Youth entering grades 4-12 for the 2026-2027 school year who are interested in learning to sewing and fun crafts
Why: Learn a lifelong skill in a fun, supportive 4‑H environment

This year’s Outdoor Adventure Day is scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and is open to all members. Activities on this day will include Outdoor Skills & Fishing Sports activities. A bus will be provided for transportation from the Rienzi Shopping Center parking lot behind Raising Cane’s in Thibodaux, the Galliano Walmart, and the 4-H Office in Raceland to the site. All attendees must ride the bus to the site. Rods, stoppers, and hooks will be provided for use by the first 50 to register. You may want to bring a tackle box for extras if you choose. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Prizes will be awarded during the day! A $10 non-refundable registration fee will be charged to assist with expenses. The 4-H Bayou Area Horse Show is scheduled for June 6, 2026, at the new Raceland Arena. Registration begins at 9:00 A.M., and competition will commence at 10:00 A.M. The show will consist of both performance and speed events, along with a “Fun Event”. There will also be concessions and a silent auction. Registration forms were sent through 4HOnline.Please monitor 4HOnline emails for additional information in the upcoming weeks. We hope to see you on June 6th!
Kid Chef Camp is a fun, hands-on 2‑day camp for 4th–6th grade Lafourche 4‑H members focused on food, nutrition, physical fitness, cooking, and food safety. The camp will be held Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Lafourche office, 115 Texas Street, Raceland. Space is limited to 20 participants, with a waiting list if needed. Registration is completed by scanning the QR code and filling out the survey. The cost is $30 per child, which covers supplies. Participants will prepare, taste, and eat all recipes and receive a recipe booklet at the end of camp. Lunch is provided through prepared foods. Food allergies must be noted on the registration survey.
The inaugural Lafourche Parish 4-H ESPORTS Team competed in SE Regional Esports Tournament at LSU on April 18, 2026. Both our Junior Division and Senior Division Teams won 1st Place! The teams competed in Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Team members were: Senior Division-Iyron Cheramie, Jonah Curole, and Bransen Friel; Junior Division-Philip Bourg, Carter Gautreaux, Connor Loupe, Elliot Pate, and Charles Stroud. The Senior Division team qualified for State competition at 4-H University this summer. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Lafourche 4-H Robotics team member Aubrey Burton of Virtual Academy of Lafourche-South who will be representing Lafourche Parish 4-H and Louisiana at the Invention Convention Nationals Competition in Dearborn, Michigan in June! Her invention was designed to improve the quality of life for her neighbor who has Alzheimer’s and his caregivers. Good luck at Nationals!
