Culture includes ethnicity, language, traditions, beliefs, customs, and other influences on our total being. We learn about our culture from our parents, grandparents, or other family members. Culture may be influenced by where we live or it may come from our heritage. Cultural awareness can help us understand why people have certain customs and beliefs. When we personally know people before we make judgments about them, we can keep conflict from happening.
