- 2020 - 2021 Enrollment Cards for St. James Parish 4-H.
Thank you for your interest in 4-H. 4-H provides a unique environment where youth can try new things, make new friends, and discover new possibilities. Enrollment fee this year is FREE through a sponsorship from Formosa.
Through 4-H, your child will explore leadership, teamwork, citizenship, and community service. The values and skills that youth gain as a 4-H'er will help them become their best selves today and in the future. 4-H gives youth the chance to discover what they want to do and who they want to be, to connect with others in a supporting environment, and to take action to make the world a better place. It also provides the foundation they need to fearlessly make their own path in the world.
There is something for everyone in 4-H, from hands-on science to art activities to exploring the outdoors and their own community. Don't forget our 4-H summer camps, Safety Day, party with the pumpkins, shooting sports, livestock, fun run, and many more fun activities.
This year, as you are aware, will look a bit different for 4-H. We will be in the schools as much as we are allowed for in-person club meetings. We have a Google Classroom set up and all of our club meetings will be on there so the 4-H’ers from Cloverbud to 12th grade can watch their particular club meeting. We will post items needed for the following month’s club meeting on the Google Classroom so that you can gather the few supplies and the members can conduct the activities with us. Some in person activities will be delayed for right now as we follow all LSU and CDC guidelines. We will be making every effort possible to conduct our programs as normal as possible. All newsletters, forms, activities, upcoming competitions etc. will be on the Google Classroom.
Meanwhile, young people can join 4-H right now and get started on their 4-H journeys. Fill out the attached enrollment card. Please make sure that ALL INFORMATION is included and that we have a good phone number and email. Enrollment fees are free for this year thanks to the sponsorship from Formosa. Don’t delay, bring your card back to your teacher or drop it off at the 4-H Office or mail it in. Our first club meeting will be in October.
You will notice a section on the enrollment form for a parent’s email address and phone number. These sections are now a requirement for enrollment. Also, on the back of the enrollment form is a section to mark if you would like to become a volunteer.
We look so forward to seeing you in 4-H this year! It will be an exciting new year with lots of fun and exciting things to do within your school and community.
