Location: The LSU Agricultural Center is a statewide organization with offices in every parish of Louisiana.The administrative headquarters, including the Human Resource Management Office, are located in Baton Rouge.

About the LSU Agricultural Center: The LSU AgCenter, is one of nine campuses within the broader LSU enterprise (LSU System). The LSU AgCenter includes the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station, which conducts agricultural-based research, and the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, which extends the knowledge derived from research to the people of the state. The AgCenter is headquartered in Baton Rouge and has 12 “on campus” academic departments and five regions which are made up of 17 branch research stations and an extension office in each parish. Administratively aligned with the AgCenter is the LSU A&M campus’s College of Agriculture which oversees the teaching function.Many AgCenter faculty hold joint appointments with the College of Agriculture so coordination is important.

Position Description: The Human Resource Representative will perform diversified and technical tasks in the maintenance of human resources functions for the LSU AgCenter. The incumbent will process a full range of personnel and payroll actions needed to complete the preemployment process and subsequent status updates for classified employees. This will require knowledge and application of the State Civil Service rules, AgCenter and LSU System policies, and WorkDay procedures applicable to the transaction. The incumbent will also process the full range of personnel and payroll actions needed for appointments, status changes, and separations for temporary personnel hired under State Civil Service Rule 4.1(d)1. The incumbent will utilize knowledge of approved LSU AgCenter authorities and parameters associated with each action to ensure that each appointment complies with applicable rules and regulations.The incumbent must have technical knowledge of AgCenter and LSU System policies, employee benefits, approval requirements, etc. that apply to the temporary unclassified employees.Functions as the lead timekeeper for biweekly payroll for classified, transient and student employees.Answers and researches all questions related but not limited to overtime, special leave, proper entry of work time and leave, procedures for collection of overpayments, making corrections, and other non-routine issues. Runs reports to insure accurate and timely payment of employees during payroll processing. Learns complex Enterprise Resource Planning system (WorkDay) for the AgCenter’s human capital business processing and data needs. Ensures that transactions have been properly entered into WorkDay. Recommends new and modified workflow, forms, and processes relative to the system, ensuring that approval and audit requirements are met. Stays up to date on changes, recommends modifications to internal procedures, and notifies unit and department support staff statewide as necessary. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Business Administration or closely related field. Preferred: Louisiana State Civil Service knowledge, 1 – 2 years’ experience in Human Resources in an academic setting, and WorkDay knowledge.
