Work Location: Sugar Research Station, Louisiana State University Agricultural Center, St. Gabriel, Louisiana.
Responsibilities: Support research related to diseases, insects and weeds adversely affecting sugarcane at the LSU Agricultural Center’s Sugar Research Station in St. Gabriel, Louisiana and on cooperating commercial farms.Incumbent will support research conducted by faculty at the Sugar Research Station and other Agricultural Center units.Duties will include responsibility for all aspects of pathology, entomology, and weed science research under the supervision of research faculty.Incumbent should be willing and able to perform physical work outdoors.
Qualification Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in plant sciences, entomology, agronomy, integratedpest management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.Knowledge and experience in working in an agricultural research setting and computer skills are highly desirable.Knowledge of farming practices and operation of farm machinery is desirable.
