The FCS Extension Agent is responsible for working with program advisory committees to identify local nutrition needs, to develop programs that respond to those needs, and to assess the impacts of the programs. The identification, recruitment, training, and support of volunteers are essential for an effective extension programming. As an Extension employee, the agent must be willing to continue professional development and remain current with nutrition research and its application to programming. The incumbent is expected to perform other tasks that may be assigned by supervisor(s) and work cooperatively with other Extension faculty at the parish, district, and state levels.
