(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through December 31, 2019. Continuation will be dependent on funding, job performance, and continued need for the appointment.)
Work Location: School of Renewable Natural Resources, LSU Ag Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.Research Associate will perform ongoing field and laboratory work in the Atchafalaya River Basin and coastal plains streams.
Responsibilities: Participate in ongoing field activities (e.g., fishes, benthic invertebrates, and water quality collections, etc.) on integrated long term research project; assist principal investigators in the design and direction of research activities, as well as data analyses, reporting, and publication of results.
Qualification Requirements: BS in fisheries management, aquatic ecology, or related biological field; experience with operation and maintenance of water quality monitoring and field collecting techniques for fishes, aquatic insects, and invertebrates; experience with database management and programming, and GIS and Microsoft applications; ability to work well independently or within collaborative teams.
