(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)
WORK LOCATION: School of Renewable Natural Resources, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, La.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Postdoctoral Researcher needed for projects using remotely-sensed data and light-level geolocator technology to inform landscape-scale conservation planning. The Postdoctoral Researcher will assist with field data collection; perform statistical analyses using spatial data; assist or lead preparation of technical reports and peer-reviewed publications; train technicians and graduate students in field techniques, software use, and data analyses; assist with procurement and maintenance of field equipment and supplies, and complete other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: PhD in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences or related scientific field.Applicant must have a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, experience with spatial analyses, and be able to demonstrate proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., C++, R). Bird banding and geolocator deployment experience is preferred. A previous work history with candidate, threatened, or endangered species is desirable.
