National 4-H Conference is hosted by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). Louisiana 4-H has an application and interview process to select our four delegates. These delegates represent Louisiana 4-H at the National 4-H Conference.
At National 4-H Conference, each delegate chooses a topic to research, discuss, and formulate a briefing to present to federal agencies. These topics are real world issues that federal agencies are working to address and want youth perspective to inform their work. Youth will spend several days meeting in small groups to discuss the challenge question, share their perspectives, and formulate a response presentation. They will visit with those federal agencies to formally present their feedback.

The LSU AgCenter is supporting either the web-based or instructor-led (in-person) trainings for livestock exhibitors to meet their Livestock Ethics requirement. The Youth for the Quality Care of Animals program is an annual, required training for all livestock exhibitors at LSU AgCenter livestock shows. The certification number, found on each exhibitor’s certificate, which can be downloaded upon completion, will be a required field in Fair Entry as well as an uploaded copy of their certificate, which will then be cross-checked with reports from YQCA. Each certificate is good for 365 days; therefore, last year’s certificate is not valid for the 2026 LSU AgCenter sponsored livestock shows. Certificates must be valid through the last day of their district livestock show. Signup for either instructor-led (in-person) trainings or web-based trainings can be found at YQCA.
