LSU College of Ag Opportunities

The LSU College of Agriculture offers personalized visits for high school students to learn more about LSU and the College of Agriculture. Students can schedule a visit to campus by visiting: LSU College of Ag Opportunities.


Service-learning Focus

Combating Hunger & Poverty in Louisiana is our state and parish service-learning focus for the 2024-2025 year. Opportunities will be offered for you to participate in our statewide focus. Let’s all make a difference in our community and state.

Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center

The Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center offers a wide variety of additional youth programming opportunities throughout the year. Note: LSU AgCenter policy requires all adults attending an overnight event with youth to complete our overnight chaperone training and screening process.

  • Join the Junior Leader Club

    The 4-H junior leader experience is designed to provide members with the opportunity to learn about the qualities and competencies needed to be a leader. Junior leaders provide assistance with 4-H events and assume more challenging leadership roles. Our Junior Leader program is a great place to experience new things, complete service-learning projects, meet new friends, travel, and learn the leadership skills necessary in the world.     Service-learning Workshops

    The 4-H State Office will be hosting two statewide Service-learning workshops this spring.

    • April 19, 2025 – Ruston
    • May 1, 2025 – Baton Rouge

    Register on 4-H Online by April 15th. The training is designed for agent, volunteers, and middle-to-high school youth to learn about the service-learning cycle and how it can be effectively implemented to significantly contribute to your local community and beyond. A team of up to four people may attend. A team may consist of 4-H agent, 4-H members, 4-H club leaders, junior leaders, and/or anyone who has a passion for expanding their reach through service.

    Each workshop will begin with registration at 9:15 a.m. and will conclude by 3:30 p.m. There is no registration fee, and lunch will be provided. Contact Ms. Lucas for more details.


    Louisiana 4-H Esports

    Get ready for the 2025 Louisiana 4-H Esports Season!

    The season will consist of five Regional Tournaments and a Championship at 4-H University. Each Regional Tournament will offer both a Junior (grades 5-7) and Senior Division (grades 8-12).

    The following titles will be offered at each Regional Tournament:

    • Rocket League
    • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
    • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Junior Division only)

    Division champions will be crowned at each Regional Tournament. Additionally, Senior Division Rocket League teams will be scored as a qualifier to participate in the Rocket League Championship at 4-H University. The Northeast competition will be held at Sterlington Middle School in Monroe on April 19th. Contact Ms. Lucas for more details.

    4-H Highlights


    LOST Camp

    LOST Camp will be held at Camp Grant Walker July 31 – August 3, 2025. Campers must have completed grades 7th or 8th of the current camp year. The cost of this 4-day camp is $95. Deadline for payment of all fees is Wednesday, May 7th.
