Combating Hunger & Poverty in Louisiana is our state and parish service-learning focus for the 2024-2025 year. Opportunities will be offered for you to participate in our statewide focus. Let’s all make a difference in our community and state.

The 4-H junior leader experience is designed to provide members with the opportunity to learn about the qualities and competencies needed to be a leader. Junior leaders provide assistance with 4-H events and assume more challenging leadership roles. Our Junior Leader program is a great place to experience new things, complete service-learning projects, meet new friends, travel, and learn the leadership skills necessary in the world. 4-H will celebrate and recognize our graduating 4-H members during 4-H University and on the Louisiana 4-H social media pages. All graduating seniors are invited to participate in the Louisiana 4-H Senior Spotlight by completing the registration in 4-H Online.
Participants will answer one question and submit a high-resolution senior picture (JPEG or PNG format). Please note that selfies and screenshots cannot be accepted to ensure the best quality for recognition. The deadline for submissions is March 31st. In addition to their photo, seniors are encouraged to share their favorite 4-H experience or memory in 50 words or less. Contact Ms. Lucas for more details.
4-H members who were 13 years of age before January 1 are eligible to attend 4-H University. 4-H’ers can experience an exciting week on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. This event will give students the opportunity to compete in contests, explore the LSU campus, and visit academic departments. 4-H U will be held June 17th-20th. The total cost is $95. The deadline to pay is April 1st.
The Louisiana 4-H Record Book Contest is a traditional event where members choose a project area, develop skills, and document their growth. East Carroll Parish 4-H will host its annual competition with top entries advancing to the state level. The deadline is April 4th. All entries will be recognized at Awards Day. Get ready for the 2025 Louisiana 4-H Esports Season!
The season will consist of five Regional Tournaments and a Championship at 4-H University. Each Regional Tournament will offer both a Junior (grades 5-7) and Senior Division (grades 8-12).
The following titles will be offered at each Regional Tournament:
Division champions will be crowned at each Regional Tournament. Additionally, Senior Division Rocket League teams will be scored as a qualifier to participate in the Rocket League Championship at 4-H University. The Northeast competition will be held at Sterlington Middle School in Monroe on April 19th. Contact Ms. Lucas for more details.

Celebrate National Ag Month by helping others. Louisiana 4-H and FFA are teaming up during March to support the “4-H & FFA Together Like PB&J Campaign” March 1st – 31st. This collaboration showcases the strengths of both organizations in promoting agricultural education and community service. Reporting due by April 15th at: PB&J Food Drive
