The 4-H junior leader experience is designed to provide members with the opportunity to learn about the qualities and competencies needed to be a leader. Junior leaders provide assistance with 4-H events and assume more challenging leadership roles. Our Junior Leader program is a great place to experience new things, complete service-learning projects, meet new friends, travel, and learn the leadership skills necessary in the world. "Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler À!" Let the Good Times Roll! It’s time to plan for 4-H Summer Camp. Registration opens February 3rd. 4th-5th grade 4-H members (ages 9-12) are eligible to attend. The base cost is $250; however, if you are eligible for both offered scholarships the cost is $95. East Carroll will camp June 2nd-5th. Spaces are limited, so register early.
Create a card to be given to residents at Cypress at Lake Providence nursing home. The residents deserve to know that their local 4-H’ers care about them during Valentine’s Day. Cards are due Monday, February 10th.

Completed applications are due: Wednesday, February 19th.
The 2025 State Food Challenge will be held Wednesday, March 12th at the State Evacuation Center in Alexandria. Teams can be comprised of 2-4 members (previously 3-4). Supply Box Pantry Items are allowed. Registration will be $40 per team. Deadline to register is Friday, February 21st. Contact Ms. Lucas for more details.
The mask must be made by the 4-H’er. It must be made using the paper template provided by Ms. Lucas. Divisions will be 4th-5th grades and 6th-12th grades. Awards in each division will be 1st Place ($15), 2nd Place ($10), and 3rd Place ($5). Masks are due Friday, February 28th.

Blast Off is a one-day workshop open to 6th grade 4-H’ers which will lead them on an intergalactic journey through the hunger and poverty cosmos. The Citizenship Board will lead these young space explorers to understanding the emotional and physical impacts of hunger and poverty by multiple stations and activities.
Louisiana 4-H is hosting the 2024-2025 Louisiana Beef Industry Council Beef Poster Contest. The contest encourages participants to learn more about the beef industry while promoting beef industry nutrition and products.
The contest is open to students in grades 4th through 12th and includes four divisions: Division I (4th to 6th grades); Division II (7th to 9th grades); Division III Poster (10th to 12th grades); and Division III Digital (grades 4th-12th).
Participants are asked to have 4-H poster entries to the 4-H Office by March 8th.
4-H club members are to draw a billboard that encourages or promotes the consumption of milk and milk products from Dairy Cattle Only and their importance for health.

Get ready for the 2025 Louisiana 4-H Esports Season!
The season will consist of five Regional Tournaments and a Championship at 4-H University. Each Regional Tournament will offer both a Junior (grades 5-7) and Senior Division (grades 8-12).
The following titles will be offered at each Regional Tournament:
Division champions will be crowned at each Regional Tournament. Additionally, Senior Division Rocket League teams will be scored as a qualifier to participate in the Rocket League Championship at 4-H University. The date for the state office-sponsored regional qualifier has been set for March 1, 2025. Registration for the 2025 Louisiana 4-H SeaPerch Competition is now open.
Registration is $35 per team and is open to all youth. We currently have three invitations to the International SeaPerch Competition that will be awarded to the winners of the High School and Middle School Stock Classes as well as one specialty award winner. Additional awards, including travel assistance to the International Competition, are available to teams that are made of 4-H members enrolled at least 30 days prior to the competition. The Louisiana 4-H Record Book Contest is a traditional event where members choose a project area, develop skills, and document their growth. East Carroll Parish 4-H will host its annual competition with top entries advancing to the state level. The deadline is April 4th. All entries will be recognized at Awards Day.
