At the 4-H/HYPE Teen Leader meeting, youth learned how to safely operate a pressure cooker and sampled Louisiana gumbo prepared during the demonstration, led by 4-H Volunteer Ms. Elisha Lucas. They also designed T-shirts and finalized plans for winter community service projects.
The BA Club meeting had a lesson on tree ecology, discussing tree age determination, and tree ring analysis to identify past environmental conditions including wet/warm or cold/dry years. They finished with a hands-on tree cookie activity. Kudos to the club officers for leading the meeting.
Regional Leadership Board members had a nice, comfy night at their November meeting of PJ's and Pancakes. They participated in a community service project by Sewing a Stocking for the NELA Baptist Children's Home, played some games, and enjoyed some delicious breakfast for supper. They ended the night by visiting the Land of Lights in Antique Alley.
