  • Attend the 4-H Club meeting in your school.
  • Review the 4-H materials given to you.
  • Return the enrollment card to your club leader.
  • Select a 4-H project book.
  • Pay your $5 dues at your school.

Service-learning Focus

Disability Awareness is our state and parish service-learning focus for the 2020-2021 year. Opportunities will be offered for you to participate in our statewide focus. Let's get busy making a difference in our community and state.

Healthy Living Series

Healthy Living Series at Southsidejpg






Students at Southside Elementary participated in a healthy living series. The students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn about coping with stress and handling stress in a positive manner. This was a fantastic in-person and virtual learning experience.




Beef Poster Contest

The 2021 Louisiana Beef Industry Council Beef Poster Contest theme is “Green Beef.” Posters must be on 22” x 28” poster board only. Place your name, address, age, grade in school, and parish/chapter on back, upper right corner of poster. The posters are due to the East Carroll 4-H Office by Friday, March 5.

  • Division I: 4th-6th grades
  • Division II: 7th-9th grades
  • Division III: 10th-12th grades
  • Division DIGITAL: Open division. All ages compete together.

Scott Foundation Scholarship

Scott Foundation Scholarship applications are due by 4:30 p.m. March 29. Submit completed application to the 4-H Office.


4-H Golden Clover Award

Applications for the 4-H Golden Clover Award for Junior 4-H members will be due on April 1. A club member may win the award only one time.

  • Must be 14 years of age or under by January 1 of the club year application is made.
  • Must have at least 2 years of 4-H club work, including award year.
  • Must score at least 250 points on the application and scorecard.

4-H Emerald Achievement Award

The purpose of this award is to encourage project growth and to recognize a broad program of 4-H club members who have shown outstanding leadership ability in their club and parish. A club member may win the award only one time.

  • Must be 15 years of age by January 1 of the year application is made.
  • Must have 3 years of 4-H club work, including award year.
  • Must have completed 1 year of active Junior Leadership work excluding award year.
  • Must score at least 360 points on the application and scorecard.
  • Application due: April 1

4-H Poster Art Contest

  • Posters may be made by any 4-H'er or by a club or by a team of club members.
  • Posters may be horizontal only.
  • Posters must be 14"x22" inches.
  • Name, address, parish, and age of the 4-H member(s) should be clearly written on the back of each poster.
  • 4-H is the topic for the poster.
  • Well known cartoon figures cannot be used because they are copyrighted - such as Marvel Superheroes, Disney characters, Ninja Turtles, Lego characters, Pokémon characters, etc.
  • Three dimensional objects or materials which extend 1/8 inch or more above the surface of the poster may not be used.
  • The poster design must be original in design and layout.
  • Deadline: April 9

Draw a Dairy Billboard Contest

The Louisiana 4-H Draw a Dairy Billboard Contest is co-sponsored by the Louisiana Dairy Industry Promotion Board and the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service.

Any bona fide 4-H club member may enter. The purpose of this contest is for members to:

  • Learn more about milk and milk products and their importance to healthy bodies.
  • Demonstrate communication skills by drawing a billboard encouraging or promoting the consumption of milk and/or milk products.
  • Share their knowledge with others.

Division I: 4th-6th grades; Division II: 7th-8th grades; Division III: 9th-12th grades

Rules and Regulations:

  • Billboard design must be made on 22"x28" regular poster board size only.
  • Do Not Attach anything to the poster that is more than 1/2" thick.
  • Do not use the commercial brand names of products on the poster. Do not use jingles, slogans, signs, or pictures that are copyright protected on the poster.
  • Be Sure to print name, address, grade in school, and parish on the back of the poster in the upper right hand corner. Please fill out the reporting form completely.
  • Deadline: April 30
