Here's how to Join the Club:
Disability Awareness is our state and parish service-learning focus for the 2020-2021 year. Opportunities will be offered for you to participate in our statewide focus. Let's get busy making a difference in our community and state.
The East Carroll Junior Leader Club made activity mats designed to safely stimulate and soothe people with Alzheimer's, dementia, or autism. The activity mats will be donated to a local nursing home facility. #LA4HDAYOFSERVICE
The 4-H Homeschool Club members presented and voted on a community service-learning project for the 2020-2021 school year. After monthly club meetings, the group will pick up litter at various locations throughout the parish to make our community better by giving back. #HANDSTOLARGERSERVICE

4-H'ers who participated in the 4-H Photography Contest had the opportunity to display their art at the East Carroll Parish Library. The art exhibition was held November 16-30. Congratulations!
Feeling festive? Get in the holiday spirit by using your creativity to design a card for elderly residents in East Carroll Parish. The best part about this event is the 2-for-1 feature: a 4-H contest and a service project rolled into one! Contest entries will be forwarded to elderly Lake Providence residents in December. All members of 4-H are eligible to participate.
The Healthy Young People Empowerment (HYPE) Project is a youth leadership program that trains youth to become advocates for positive change. HYPE activities focus on health advocacy, youth development, youth-adult partnerships, and addressing health disparities. The group met on Friday, November 20 and assessed Kendall's Community Park by utilizing the Physical Activity Resource Assessment Instrument (PARA). The group discussed ways to improve the local park. The next meeting will be held on Saturday, December 19. For more information, please contact Lekeisha Lucas-Powell at (318) 559-1459.
