East Carroll Teens as Teachers assisted with the facilitation of Southside Elementary Cloverbud's meeting. The Cloverbuds learned all about Celebrating Individuality while focusing on self-esteem and acceptance.
Disability Awareness is our state and parish service learning focus for the 2019-2020 year. Opportunities will be offered for you to participate in our state wide focus. Let's get busy making a difference in our community and state. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Attend the 4-H Club meeting in your school. Review the 4-H materials given to you. Return the enrollment card to your club leader. Select a 4-H project book. Pay your $5 dues at your school.

A 4-H Share-The-Fun Talent Contest will be held at the Louisiana State Fair Saturday, October 26 at 11 a.m. in the Livestock Sale Arena.
General Rules:
Junior Division under 14 years of age as of Dec. 31 or current year: Class 1—Dance; Class 2—Vocal; Class 3—Instrumental; Class 4—Other
Senior Division 14 years of age and older as of Dec. 31 of current year: Class 5—Dance; Class 6—Vocal; Class 7—Instrumental; Class 8—Other
1st Place—$20
2nd Place—$15
3rd Place—$10
Rosettes will be awarded to the top three placing in each class. Ribbons will be awarded to all participants.
If you like to film, edit and write — this project is for you! If you are interested in joining the Videography Club, please email Mrs. Powell or stop by the office at 409 Second Street by October 11. Spaces are limited! 8th-12th grade members only!
What to do:
All entries will receive achievement certificates and ribbons. First, Second and Third Place winners will receive cash awards.
4-H is a positive youth development organization delivered through the LSU AgCenter. In 4-H, members complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and citizenship in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. Join 4-H today!
The 4-H club with the highest percentage of enrollment will win an ice cream or cupcake party! Enrollment forms are available from 4-H leaders at each school or stop by the 4-H Office. Deadline to enroll October 31st!
What's a good theme for 4-H Summer Camp and LOST Camp?
Send us your most creative ideas for a slogan -- in seven words or less. Illustrations must accompany the phrase and will be part of the contest. The contest is open to all 4-H Club members. The winning slogan will be one that is brief and "catchy," capturing the spirit of 4-H Camp Grant Walker. The slogan will be on all publicity for camp and the camp T-shirt, and the winner will receive a monetary award.
Think fast -- the deadline is Thursday, October 31, 2019!

Winners will be selected by a committee of Agents and Camp Staff. The winner will be notified after selection in order for an official artist release so the winning entry can be used on summer camp promotional materials and T-shirts.

Fashion Camp Theme: “4-H Diving into Fashion”
The Louisiana State 4-H Fashion Camp is a textile/apparel project for 4-H members 10-13 years old. The Fashion Board chose this theme to reflect their personal excitement about fashion and the attitude the campers will adopt as they travel through the experiences at camp. In addition to basic sewing fundamentals, a few of the educational activities for campers include: a sewing caddy, tote bag, nine-square pillow, a community service project, plus more. You will return home with completed projects and ideas to host your own fashion workshop.
Deadline for registration is Friday, December 6 by 4:30 p.m.
Costs: Arriving Friday night $130 (includes Friday lodging + breakfast)
Arriving Saturday morning $110
Volunteer Leaders $80 (leaders attending with parish campers)
