ATTN: 7^th and 8^th grade 4-H members & parents

It’s time to sign up for 4-H Challenge Camp! We can only send 7 kids (4 girls, 3 boys) to this 3-day camp for 7^th and 8^th grade 4-Hers from 16 parishes. Challenge Camp is designed to develop team work and communication skills. Campers sleep in air conditioned cabins and move around Lion King Retreat Center in Amite on well-marked trails. Activities at challenge camp include nature walks, campfires, games, and fishing (if you bring the equipment).

WHEN IS IT? Wednesday, November 1^st – Friday November 3^rd

WHERE IS IT? Lion King Retreat Center in Amite, LA

COST: $50 which includes meals, lodging, (this doesn’t include money for lunch on the way home), and camp T-shirt

TRANSPORTATION: Since the group is too small to justify paying for a bus, we will need parent volunteers to drive. If your parent can help, please call the 4-H office or mark the appropriate space on the permission slip. We will leave after school Wednesday and return Friday mid-day.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 13^th - Bring application and $50 camp fee, (check or money order only) to 4-H Office, 151 East 3^rd Street Edgard, LA 70049.

ADDITIONAL INFO: Final plans for transportation and supervision will be done after we see how many are interested, so please observe the deadline! A letter will be sent to campers with more details. A female agent will bunk with our girls and girls from other parishes and their agents in the group camp. The boys will stay in a group cabin with male agents from other parishes.
