The LSU AgCenter is proud to present the 2018 Ag Magic Event to be held at the John M. Parker Coliseum on the LSU Baton Rouge Campus. The event will run from April 8-12 for school tours and open April 13 and 14 for the general public from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This fun, interactive event allows participants to walk through the various and different agriculture industries that are found in Louisiana. From agronomy to zoology, attendees will witness and experience it all. Hands-on stations allows youngsters to see first hand what agriculture really is. Most exhibits are geared towards youngster up to 5th grade level; however, this event is great for the whole family! Mark your calendars, you won’t want to miss it!
Join 7th-12th grade 4-H’ers from every parish June 18-21, 2019 on LSU’s campus. Not only will you have the opportunity to compete in a contest or Clover College, but this is a great opportunity to live like a college student! Please be on the look out for more information!

The Backyard Buddies Program worked hard on their animal projects and it showed at the LSU AgCenter District and State Show. They took home many awards and titles!
The next backyard buddies meeting is March 14 at 6 pm at the Central Branch Library.
The EBR 4-H Cookery Contest will be held on Saturday, March 16 at the Nelson Memorial Building on LSU’s Baton Rouge Campus .
The parish cookery contest is a great opportunity for young cooks to explore their culinary skills. Dishes can be an original creation or a family favorite, internet find or Pinterest project, it’s up to you! Dishes must be prepared at home and brought to the contest for judging.
We have divisions in Seafood, Poultry, Egg, Beef, Sugar, and a Bento Contest.
Summer 2019 is sure to be one for the record books! Over these sunny months, 4-H has lots of different events going on for you to participate in. Below are two great camping opportunities available to you. Think ahead and plan NOW…
4-H Summer Camp • Spots are Limited! REGISTER NOW!
4-H camp will be at Camp Grant Walker from July 22,2019 – July 26, 2019. Camp is for 4-H members grades 4th-6th. The cost is $250.00 which includes a camp t-shirt, parish and camp group picture, transportation to and from camp, all meals, and $20.00 to be spent at the Camp Store. If your child receives free or reduced lunch, they are eligible to receive a scholarship from the LSU AgCenter Chancellor reducing the cost to $190.00.
Registration is open and there will be limited spots! Please register by April 12, 2018!

Our 4– H members did amazing at the LSU AgCenter District and LSU AgCenter State Livestock Show. Congratulations to all our winners!! We couldn't be more proud of how hard each member has worked with their animal projects.
The next Livestock Club meeting is March 12, 2019 at 6 pm at the Gas Utility in Zachary.
Attention 7th-8th graders – here’s a camp just for YOU! Join 4-H’ers from all 64 parishes in a quest to learn about different career choice opportunities through hands-on scientific learning and discovery while partaking in traditional camping activities. Louisiana Outdoors Science & Technology (LOST) Camp focuses on implementing the outdoors with science to achieve mastery through exploration and critical thinking.
LOST Camp will take place July 28– July, 31 2019 at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA. In order to register for LOST Camp please contact Mr. Jessie at the Parish Office.
Although going off to college is an exciting time in life, it can also be very expensive. 4-H is here to help with your financial needs through state scholarship opportunities. All high school seniors in East Baton Rouge Parish must complete their 4-H Scholarship forms by March 4, 2019.

Shooting Sports Club members,hosted the East Baton Rouge District Invitational where we had over 200 shooters compete!
Thanks to everyone who came to the EBRP District Invitational Shoot to compete. A big thanks to our volunteer instructors who conduct the practices, and help run the flights at this competition. Parents and volunteers made this day possible by coming to help set up for the event in the rain! You Rock! Everyone who helped during the event and after your help did not go unnoticed, we appreciate you! Our kids are awesome and we appreciate all the love and support that was shown for them. Without the parents and instructors supporting them, this Shooting Sports program would not be possible.
Southern Regionals will be March 5-10, 2019
At Bridgeview Gun Club in Port Allen , Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Range in
Gonzales and Louis A. Mouch Jr Multi Purpose Facility in Port Allen.
If members qualify at Southern Regionals they will go on to compete at the 4-H State Match on April 15-20 ,2019.
