4-H Night with the Pelicans

Louisiana 4-H will once again host its “4-H Night with the Pelicans” on Friday, February 8, 2019. Come out and support Louisiana 4-H as the Pelicans take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Smoothie King Arena. Ticket prices vary and promotional packages are available.

CAPITOL AREA HORSE SHOW

The East Baton Rouge 4-H Horse Club will once again host the Capitol Area Horse Show on Saturday, January 26-27, 2019. This will be an open horse show available to any and all interested participants. There will be 3 divisions for participation: 13 & Under, 14 to 18, and 19 & Up. A complete list of events and registration information is on page 3.

Junior Leadership Conference

Junior Leadership Conference will be held March 8-10, 2019 at Camp Grant Walker. This year’s theme is “Say Aloha to JLC”! The tracks offered are super healthy living, outdoors, unseen powers of agriculture, ready set action, unmask your super talent, and leadership with great power comes great responsibility.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Livestock Club will meet on Tuesday, December 11th and January 8th at 6 PM at the Gas/Utility Building in Zachary, LA. This meeting will focus on the upcoming shows and assist members is making sure they are ready for the show ring. If you have any questions, or need more information, please contact Mrs. Rochelle.

Shooting Sports News

The East Baton Rouge Parish Shooting Sports Program is moving forward with a great group of members. As we get closer to competition matches, please be sure that you acquire the minimum 8 hours of qualifying practice time to compete. Practices will be held on Saturday, December 15 and January 5 and 19 from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM (archery, air rifle, air pistol, and shotgun). All practices will be held at the EBRP 4-H Property in Baker, LA.

The District Shooting Sports Invitational at East Baton Rouge Parish will be held on Saturday, February, 23 2019. THIS IS ONLY OPEN TO ENROLLED4-H Shooting Sports Members 9-19. Divisions include: Jr. Shotgun (25 5-Stand), Sr. Shotgun (25 5-Stand), Jr. Air Rifle (3P), Sr. Air Rifle (3P), Jr. Air Pistol, Sr. Air Pistol, Jr. BB, Jr. Archery (Barebow, Cmpd, Genesis, Sighted Recurve), and Sr. Archery (Barebow, Cmpd, Genesis, Sighted Recurve). Co-Op Camp March 29-31

Sharpen your leadership, marketing, money & management skills as you compete with your team to build and manage your own cooperative business!

Junior Leader Conference March 8-10

Participants have the opportunity to enjoy activities that can cause interest in SET, Outdoor Skills, Healthy Living, Performing Arts, Leadership and Community Service.

4-H University June 18-21

4-Hers ages 13-18 will have the opportunity to stay on LSU’s Campus and compete in different educational fields as well as get an idea of a college experience.

LOST Camp July 28-August 1

Each camper will choose (3) tracks to participate in at LOST camp. Tracks for this year include videography, wetlands, outdoor adventures, SET, and more! Campers will also have free time for recreation activities, such as volleyball, archery, arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing/kayaking, and dances.

4-H Camp July 22-26

Don’t miss the opportunity to have a GREAT adventure with 4-H this summer at 4-H Summer Camp! This educational camp is a 5-day, 4-night adventure for 4th-6th graders (of the current school year). Campers enjoy interactive recreational activities such as swimming, canoeing,archery, volleyball, line dancing, arts and crafts, and much more.
