4-H Night with the Pelicans Save the Date!

PelicanspngLouisiana State 4-H will once again host its “4-H Night with the Pelicans” on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 at 8:30 PM . Come out and support Louisiana 4-H as the Pelicans take on Miami Heat in the Smoothie King Arena. Please check upcoming Clovertalks for more information about pricing, packages, and how to order your tickets. This event is open to all 4-H’ers and their families and friends. Hope to see you guys there!

Ticket prices include: admission to pre-game activities, 4-H Night with the Pelicans

Backyard Buddies

The Backyard Buddies Program next scheduled meetings will be Tuesday, November 6 and Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Central Library, 11260 Joor Rd., Baton Rouge. Please come with any questionsyou may have. In the mean time, please feel free to contact the 4-H agents.

Cards for Soldiers Project

This year East Baton Rouge is participating in the “Cards for Soldiers” project. This November during your monthly 4-H meeting, we will make handcrafted and/or signed greeting cards to send to our troops that are deployed overseas. Hand-signed cards are usually Thank You, We Miss You, Holiday type cards, etc. letting our soldiers know we appreciate their service and miss them.

Challenge Camp Departure

Departure: We will leave at 3:30 PM on November 14th and meet at the EBRP 4-H office

Return: We will return at 10:00 AM on November 16th to the EBRP 4-H office

Fashion Camp 2019

January 25-26-27, 2019

LIMITED to 2 spots for youth and 1 adult volunteer! For youth ages 10-13 years old

Camp begins with registration 9:00 AM Saturday January 26th

Camp ends Sunday January 27th at 11:00 AM

Friday night accommodations are available which include Saturday breakfast

2 youth must have an adult go with them. Adult must contact a 4-H agent to be trained as an overnight chaperone and have their background checked.

*** Register with the 4-H office by December 1st. ***

Cost to attend is $110.00 w/ t-shirt and meals included.

SPACE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED (2 per parish)

Horse Club

HorsepngHorse Club will meet on Tuesday, November 6 at 6:00 PM. At this meeting we will plan our year as well as discuss Capital Area Horse Show, and future meeting events. The meeting will be at Me’Pa’s Diner (6643 Sullivan Rd, Greenwell Springs). For more information contact the 4-H agents at (225) 389-3055.

November 12: ALL Entry Forms Due to 4-H Office, Miniature Beef procession date

December 3: Possession swine breeding, market swine, and commercial gilts

January 11-12: Parish Livestock Show • Baton Rouge

January 31st—Feb.2: District Livestock Show • Gonzales

February 10-16: State Livestock Show • Gonzales

great start! We’d like to thank all of our new members for deciding to join and take part in this group. We would also like to welcome back our returning members. We are all looking forward to a successful year!

Please be sure to complete your membership form and return to Mrs. Rochelle as soon as possible, if you haven’t already done so. This information is important for recording practice hours for competition eligibility. If you did not receive a form, please be sure to let us know! Practices will be held this month on Saturday, November 3 from 9:00-11:00 AM, and on Saturday, November 17 from 9:00-11:00 AM.
