Come join the Ouachita 4-H Zoo Club! There will be a service project & educational program presented at each meeting (dress in comfortable clothes with closed toe shoes). Sign in & drop off/pick up location is just inside the zoo gate. We have some fun new surprises for the upcoming year! Zoo Club will meet 9am-12pm at Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo (1405 Bernstein Park Rd., Monroe).

Mrs. Bethany Corona has been a 4-H agent in Ouachita since 2023. She graduated from Farmerville High School & earned her bachelor’s degree at ULM. She will cover Middle & High School clubs, Jr. Leaders, Livestock, Photography, & Robotics clubs!
Ms. Lena Thornton has been a 4-H agent in Ouachita since 2024. She graduated from Lasalle High School & earned her bachelor’s degree at ULM. She will cover Elementary School clubs, Shooting Sports, & Zoo clubs!

Join Ouachita 4-H Shooting Sports! You must be 9 years old by January 1, 2026 & you must join 4-H. Shooting Sports registration fees are $30 per child, with a family maximum of $50. 4-H dues are $8. Practice dates will be posted soon. Join the Ouachita 4-H eSports Team! Any 4-H member grades 4-12 is welcome. Games include Rocket League, Smash Brothers, Mario Cart (Jr. only). There are monthly practices & regional competitions. Join the Ouachita 4-H Seaperch Team! For 6th-12th grade 4-H members, SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips students, educators, & parents with the resources they need to build an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) in an in- or out-of-school setting. A parent meeting will be held September 16, 5:30-7pm at the 4-H office. Practices are at 4pm on the following dates:

National 4-H Week!!
National 4-H Week is October 5-11, 2025! National 4-H Week, the first full week of October, is a week-long celebration of 4-H across the country. During National 4-H Week, promote 4-H in your school & community with fun activities. Some ideas include providing refreshments for school staff, placing 4-H signs on lockers of members, placing posters throughout the school, & having a 4-H member read a PSA each morning!

Ouachita 4-H Photography Club!
Join our Ouachita 4-H Photography Club, led by West Monroe Mayor, Staci Mitchell, who was recently inducted into the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame! Join us each month at a different location to take photos & learn about photography. Join our GroupMe to stay in the loop. Photography Club fee of $20 includes a t-shirt & supplies for activities. Learn from a pro, participate in monthly challenges & contests, meet new friends, win prizes, & display at Art Crawl! For our first meeting, we will meet at Kiroli Park in West Monroe Tuesday, September 9, 4-5:30pm.
The 2025 Ark-La-Miss Fair!
The 2025 Ark-La-Miss Fair will be held September 26–October 5, 2025, at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center, 501 Mane Street in West Monroe. Come by the 4-H office to pick up your fair book, tags, & forms for your fair entries. There are several projects available – from photography, baking, canning, to arts & crafts, & more! Tractor Supply Winter Paper Clover Campaign
The dates for the Tractor Supply Winter Paper Clover Campaign are November 28-December 14, 2025. Since 2010, Tractor Supply has partnered with 4-H to prepare youth to be ready for work & life. The success of the Paper Clover campaign has raised more than $24 million to impact local youth with the technical skills & life skills that prepare them for whatever comes their way. Head out to your local Tractor Supply store, located at 201 Mane Street in West Monroe, & buy a paper clover to help support your parish 4-H program!
