Recipe for Sweet Potato Cheese Ball featured on KARD TV-14's Louisiana Living segment, Farm to Table, November 21, 2017. Demonstrated by Markaye Russell, Area Nutrition Agent, LSU AgCenter.
8 ounce light cream cheese
2 cups sweet potatoes, mashed
½ Tablespoon jalapeno pepper, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon pepper sauce
¼ cup onions, minced
¼ cup pecans, finely chopped
1 teaspoon granulated onion
Soften cream cheese to room temperature. Boil sweet potatoes in skin until tender; peel, mash, and cool. Combine mashed sweet potatoes and cream cheese. Add remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly. Shape into ball. Chill overnight in the refrigerator. Serve with Crackers.
