Burden Museum & Gardens announces event cancellations, postponements due to coronavirus

(03/20/20) BATON ROUGE, La. — Burden Museum & Gardens, which includes the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden, the LSU Rural Life Museum and Windrush Gardens will be closed to the public until further notice as a result of the novel coronavirus.

Because of the closure, the following meetings and events have been canceled:

— Baton Rouge Orchid Society meeting, March 18.

— Herb Society of America Baton Rouge Unit meeting, March 26.

— Reflections in the Garden, April 6.

— Master Gardener Plant Sale at the Botanic Gardens scheduled for April 4.

— StoryTime in the Gardens, scheduled for April 4.

— Old Fashioned Easter Celebration scheduled for April 5 at the Rural Life Museum.

— Trees and Trails field trips for spring 2020.

Several activities have been postponed and may be rescheduled later. They include:

— Zapp’s International Beerfest at the Rural Life Museum.

— Evening at Windrush at the Rural Life Museum.

— Green Stick Workshop at the Botanic Gardens.

— StoryTime in the Garden at the Botanic Gardens.

— Gourmet in the Garden at the Botanic Gardens.

— 50th Anniversary Open House at the Rural Life Museum.

In addition, all weddings and private, third-party events at the Botanic Gardens at Burden will not be allowed until further notice.
